Freya 2023

Freya was an idea formed already in 2021, and in 2022 the design began on Vortex' first ASV!

Freya competed in Njord 2023, which was a first for both Njord and Vortex.

In 2022 Vortex NTNU wanted to continue developing marine robotics. The journey of making Freya fully autonomous continued throughout 23-24 in terms of buoy detection and collision avoidance of both the drone and other objects, in addition to improving its physical design and implementing the M3 Sonar from Kongsberg Discovery.
